DULVERTON SNARES SHARE IN TRIFECTA

Weaners sired by Sires from DULVERTON ANGUS have scooped the pool with the Awards at the Annual COLIN SAY & Co conducted Blue Ribbon Weaner Sale staged at Glen Innes Monday April 11.

The Champion Pen of Heifers at this Premier event were brought forward by Gordon & Sally Wollen “Buckandoor” Glen Innes. I am sure Ian & Sally Vivers whose Eaglehawk sires have contributed in producing this outstanding pen of young Absolutely Awesome potential breeders would have been as proud as Sal and I with the quality of this scintillating pen of super females. The late June July heifers weighing in at 332kg “Rang the Bell” at a staggering $8.50 per kg to realise $2,823 per head.

Just to prove the Heifer result was no fluke the Buckandoor duo of Gordon & Sal also took home the Tri-Coloured ribbon for Champion pen of steers. Once again the Dulverton Sires share in the Genetic prowess of this result, with the Eaglehawk Team. Perhaps the most pleasing attribute from Sal’s and my perspective re this pen of super calves was the pronounced muscling along the top line.

This pen of 53 steers weighed in at 373kg and made an incredible $7.08 per kg to realise $2,643 per head.

Great work Sal & Gordon, Sal & I enjoy playing a small part in the Buckandoor operation and get a real buzz from your continuing success.

Once again Angus Australia have offered their support to the New England weaner sales. We thank them and their Field representative Liz Pearson for their involvement in the Colin Say & Co Blue Ribbon Weaner Sale.

This years recipient of the Angus Australia Medal for best presented pen is Valma Enterprises. The major shareholder in Valma is Craig Thomas, senior partner in the Colin Say operation. Sal and I once again share in the Seed Stock honours, this time with The Cox family from Speriby North, well done Arthur, Sandra and “Team”.

The Valma pen comprising 26 steers weighed in at 395kg a mighty performance for late July calves. The pen realised $7.04/kg for a per head average of $2,780 and was purchased by Rangers Valley.

Great result Craig and The Valma Team, it’s been another of Sal’s and my most pleasurable experiences working with you and the team.

Don’t miss your opportunity to be amongst Championship performers at future Colin Say & Co Blue Ribbon Weaner Sales by securing a Dulverton Angus Sire/s at this years Dulverton Sale Monday 25th July at Shannon Vale.
